STEEL MAGNOLIAS

Synopsis

Steel Magnolias is a heartfelt and hilarious play that explores the strength of female friendships and the power of community. Set in the small town of Chinquapin, Louisiana, the story follows a group of six strong-willed women who gather in Truvy’s beauty salon to share laughter, tears, and life’s ups and downs. From weddings to funerals and everything in between, these women navigate the joys and challenges of life with wit, wisdom, and a whole lot of Southern charm. With its timeless themes of love, loss, and resilience, Steel Magnolias is a must-see play that will leave audiences both laughing and crying.

Truvy Jones – 40ish; Owner of the beauty shop
Annelle Dupuy-Desoto – 19; Beauty shop assistant
Clairee Belcher – 66ish; Widow of former mayor. Grande dame.
Shelby Eatenton-Latcherie – 25; Prettiest girl in town
M’Lynn Eatenton – 50ish; Shelby’s mother. Socially prominent career woman.
Ouiser (pronounced “Weezer”) Boudreaux – 66ish; Wealthy curmudgeon. Acerbic but loveable.
