Board of Directors Ballot Information

Board of Directors Ballot Information

The following are the candidates for the Board of Directors for the Lake County Theatre Company. The information given was provided by each candidate in response to their application to run for the Board of Directors. Only members that have paid dues for the current year are allowed to vote. Please use the ballot that was sent to you via email. You will only be allowed to vote with the email address we have on file and only once. If you do not receive a ballot and believe you should have received one, please send an email to marie.schrader@laketheatre.org to let us know. Here are your candidates. You will only be allowed to vote for 9.

Tim Barnes

Why Tim Barnes wants to serve on the Board of Directors:
I feel that my past terms on the board and the professional relationships I have fostered in the community will be a benefit to the company.

Skills/Experience Tim Barnes brings to the Board of Directors:
Former Mayor of the city of Lakeport. Drama teacher CLHS. Bachelor’s degree in business management. Past LCTC president. Actor/tech designer & operator. Director and assistant director of multiple LCTC shows.

Doug Cembellin

Why Doug Cembellin wants to be on the Board of Directors:
I feel I can assist in developing and growing the organization.

What Skills/Experience Doug Cembellin brings to the Board of Directors:
Theatre, film, teaching, marketing, advertising, directing and running
organizations….I have experience in all these things.

Barbara Clark

Why Barbara Clark wants to be on the Board of Directors:
I am a current board of director. I would like to remain on the board and utilize my business expertise, non-profit experience, and love for theater of all genres! I am also the company costume mistress.

What Skills/Experience does Barbara Clark bring to the Board of Directors:
I hold a masters degree in business administration. I also have over 10 years experience in non-profits at an executive level. I have been off and on the board since it’s inception, and was on the Lake County Repertoire Theatre’s board of directors before that. I am also an actor and singer, stagehand, sound tech, assistant director, set crew, house manager and any other job I’ve been asked to do. I would like to continue to share my knowledge, gain and train our next generation, and continue working for a physical theater space to call our own.

Gary Deas

Why Gary Deas wants to be on the Board of Directors:
 I love the theater and want to once again be an active member by becoming a part of the board.

What Skills/Experience does Gary Deas bring to the Board of Directors:
I have been a producer for Mr. Lake County, I have been an assistant director. I have been in several shows over the years. I am a people person. I enjoy being out in the community and sharing the great experience the theater is and can be for anyone interested in being a part of it. From being on stage or working behind the scenes, there is a place for everyone.

Carrie Ann Eve

Why Carrie Eve wants to serve on the Board of Directors:
I have been a member of the Lake County Theatre Company Board for two years and prior to that I have been in LCTC shows and volunteered at events. I would like to continue working with this organization and learning how we can make LCTC a greater part of our community. Also as a drama teacher I want to be able to show my students different opportunities in the community.

Skills/Experience Carrie Eve will be bringing to the Board of Directors:
I have experience in the show side of theatre, (acting, directing, tech crew, costuming, makeup and crew.) I teach drama to high school students and I’m also getting training on how to be a producer. On the board I have worked on the social media side of the organization and worked on the newsletter.

Cynthia Forbes

Why Cynthia Forbes wants to serve on the Board of Directors:
I want to strengthen our outreach and expand our inclusion of diverse members in the community. I want to help create a year-round calendar of shows in advance. I want to seek a permanent home for LCTC.

Skills/Experience Cynthia Forbes will be bringing to the Board of Directors:
I have been a Board member for 4+ years. I head the Building Committee. I have Produced most of the shows in the last 4 years. I have performed in over twenty musicals and directed children’s theater.

Larry Richardson

Why Larry Richardson wants to serve on the Board of Directors:
I have been on the board for about eight years now and continue to want to be on the to watch us grow and help improve in areas where is needed.

Skills/Experience Larry Richardson will be bringing to the Board of Directors:
I direct I produce, I help build sets I do lights and sound so I bring what this boards needs along with ideas and advice.

Emil Roessingh

Why Emil Roessingh wants to serve on the Board of Directors:
Facilitate set construction.

Skills/Experience Emil Roessingh brings to the Board of Directors:
Worked as set construction carpenter for various movies, television productions, and Broadway plays in Canada. Construction supervisor for Habitat for Humanity on Vancouver Island, B. C…experience with volunteer groups and non- profits. On Board of Directors for Lucerne Senior Center for one yr.

Cindy Sobel

Why Cindy Sobel wants to serve on the Board of Directors:
 have served on the board for several years. I would like to continue to serve LCTC by working to engage the community to be involved in community theater. I believe that we achieve that by remaining dedicated to have our our own theater. A place we can dedicate to live community theater.

Skills/Experience Cindy Sobel will be bringing to the Board of Directors:
I have been an executive director for home health business for over 20 years. This brings skills of organization, budget management and community development .I have been involved in LCTC for 8 years. Not only have I been blessed to appear on stage, I have worked as stage manager fir several productions. One of my goals would be to establish an recruitment and training for backstage roles.

Becky Vreeland

Why Becky Vreeland wants to serve on the Board of Directors:
I have served on the board for the past two years. These have been some tough times for LCTC as it has been a long slow road from Covid. I’m eager to see this group really get some momentum for growth. We are looking for ways to encourage meaningful participation in order to really fulfill the potential of our organization. I hope to see positive changes in the way we grow and develop, finding strengths in our members to present the theatrical arts through fun and creative means.

Skills/Experience Becky Vreeland will be bringing to the Board of Directors:
I have been a Board member for two years. I have taken an active role in learning to direct for two very successful shows. I am looking for greater participation by everyone in our group to make new ideas come to fruition for our community and our organization.
